Basting is perfect for the hand quilter. The quilt top, batting, and baking are sewn firmly in place with a very loose quilting grid, making it easy to remove the machine basting after the hand quilting is complete. We sew stitches from 4" to 8" apaart. You need to specify the distance between stitches.
