About us:

Gayle's Quilting Patch is a professional longarm quilting business nestled  just outside the Roanoke Valley with the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding us.  Our quilts are finished using the Statler Stitcher computerized longarm machine.  Our machines are located in a smoke free environment.  We understand the time and expense that goes into your making a quilt top, therefore, we pride ourselves in the handling of your quilts and treat them as if they were our own.

In 1996, my sister and I found out that both of our daughters were pregnant so we decided to take some quilting classes to make quilts for our granddaughters. Over the years we became proficient in quilt piecing, only we had to do the quilting on our home sewing machines.

I worked for the Federal Government for 30 years and the opportunity arose for an early out retirement and I was ready to go at a young age of 50. I needed something to supplement my income and to support my love of fabric purchasing. I had seen some quilts that my friends had sent off to have machine quilted and was intrigued.  I then perused quilt magazines looking at the different longarm quilting machine companies.  I sent for all the information that I could get and spent many months trying to make my decision and ended up with the Premier by Gammill.

At that time there was only one other longarm quilter in my area. After 2 years, my business was growing and I felt it was time to upgrade.  I traded in my Premier for the Classic Plus which was stitch regulated.  All the while I was dreaming of the day I could afford the Statler Stitcher computerized machine.  So last year - 2005 - I was ready for my Statler Stitcher by Gammill.  It is heavenly.

Well into my fifth year, my business is thriving.  A year later, my daughter decided to join me and create a partnership and our 2nd Statler Stitcher is up and running.
